So I made the leap to start my journey towards getting certified as a coach. This decision actually took years of thought. Mostly, I had to battle my own insecurities and fear. Who would listen to me? What do I have to contribute that will really make a difference in someone’s life?
As I listened to our first Webtorial with Coach Mel on this topic, I realised that being a coach doesn’t mean that you have to have all the answers. It just means that you have the tools to ask the right questions so the coachee discovers the answers within themselves. My role as a coach is to journey alongside them, be a compass when they feel lost, and help them find clarity to the questions they have.
However, the most effective coaches are those who have uncluttered their own lives and found keys to unlock issues that plague them. This is where life experiences matter. My blueprint will be different to my coachee’s, but it’s ok.
I intend to create a safe space where we can have authentic conversations about life. I want to help individuals design their own version of their dream life. I want to bring them from a good place to a greater place, where they will be a better version of themselves.
And with that, I am excited.
